McKie - "Skipping makes your heart smile."
Mckie is a PMU colt rescued by United Pegasus Foundation and adopted by a family in Grass Valley. He is in two of my paintings, this portrait and he is one of the three horses in the TRIO. One day, while riding Sam in the local park, I came upon a gorgeous black and white paint/Draft cross and noticed the distinct marking on his face. It was McKie and I was thrilled to see him out and about, as it had been 5 years since I’d photographed him for this portrait.
